Organic food – a scoop of information

In the last few years, organic food has become more popular.

It comes from natural crops and farming. It’s produced without the use of artificial fertilisers, pesticides, and plant and animal growth methods.

Organic food products can be easily recognised – they have labels that read „BIO” or „ECO”.


For whom?

For everyone! Organic food products are meant for all of us, regardless of age, gender or diet. It is especially recommended that younger children or people with a tendency for food allergies eat them.


For and against „ECO”:



·      a lot of vitamins and minerals – it has been proven that organic food, on average, contains over 25% more vitamin C, about 20% more iron, and almost 30% more magnesium than conventional food,

·      better flavour and aroma,

·      the methods used to produce organic food are environment-friendly – using natural fertilisers improves the soil structure and protects microorganisms inhabiting the farming area,

·      significantly fewer nitrates, heavy metals, phosphates, and less pesticide residue.



·      the price – products created using ecological methods are significantly more expensive than conventional products,

·      accessibility – organic food can only be purchased at specialised stores or directly from manufacturers,

·      shorter expiration date.
